Rediscovering India:  An Evolving Hub for Creativity & Flexibility | Agith John Joshua, Consul, Indian Consulate in Hong Kong

As sourcing moves from polarized to more diversified, India looking increasingly attractive.

 

The country is well positioned to meet many of today's sourcing requirements - from a vast supply domestic fabrics and trims to the ability to customized handwork.  Unlike other Asian nations, India welcomes small orders.

 

All this, plus improvements the nation's infrastructure and ongoing efforts by the government to reduce 'red tape' is drawing brands to India.

 

At the upcoming FASHCON, Ajith John Joshua, Consul, Consulate General of India in Hong Kong, will share some of the many new developments that is making India a go-to source for apparel and textile exports, as well as a fast growing consumer market.

 

About Ajith John Joshua

Mr. Ajith John Joshua joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2014. He underwent the training from 2014-15 at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at Mussoorie, Foreign Service Institute at New Delhi. His previous diplomatic assignment includes Beijing (2016-18). He also served  in the Ministry of External Affairs as Assistant Secretary in Disarmament & International Security Affairs Division during 2015-16. 

Born in 1986, he obtained B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication  from National Institute of Technology, Calicut. Mr. Ajith John Joshua assumed charge as the Consul (Commerce, Political & Press) at Consulate General of India in Hong Kong SAR since 28 May 2018.

He speaks Malyalam, English, Chinsese (Putonghua).  He is married to Mrs. Simi Mariam George.
