Macy's (USA) said that it will close 28 underperforming Macy's stores and one Bloomingdales store, according to a report in the Washington Post.

 

The retailer has previous closed many other poorly performing locations in order to invest in some of its more successful stores.

 

Macy's reported same-store sales for November and December fell 0.6 percent, compared to 1.1 percent growth during the same period a year ago.
